In Season 11.27.12

Wyoming Sugar Company growers in Fremont County, Wyoming, produced a record 29.33 tons per acre this year with an average sugar content of 17.9 percent, the best since 1985. WSC started slicing beets September 22 and expects to finish around Christmas. The factory juices the slices and processes the juice into sugar, finishing the job around January 1. The factory expects to produce about 82.5 million pounds of sugar, with most of the product going to industrial users. The factory also produces beet molasses, pressed pulp, and precipitated calcium carbonate. [TheRanger]
